About Me

About In the Key of Books

Books and music are my twin passions that are intertwined in my head. I conceptualize experiences in terms of songs and books. You can often hear me saying, "That sounds like a song" and I just might use that inspiration to write one. And when I'm not songwriting, I'm reading. Books have a way of getting under your skin, of staying there while you go about your day, replaying in your head like a soundtrack. This blog is about that melodic connections we make with books that makes them unforgettable. I hope you'll enjoying the listening experience.

In its previous incarnation I used this blog to discuss Newbery Award winners and other awesome books. Check out the archives to read about them.

About Me (Eti)

I'd like to think of myself as a Nerdfighter Feminist who is willing to randomly burst into song at any given moment - or at least watch Buffy's Once More with Feeling. Besides for obsessing about books, I create song parodies and am the co-owner of a greeting card company called ironWoman Cards.
I am an alumna of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Urbana-Champaign, focused on youth services librarianship. I adore Young Adult books, Middle Grade books, graphic novels, and picture books.
